Universal Explorer – Replacement for Windows Explorer
The default file manager that Windows has to offer, that is Windows Explorer, is more than enough if you want to keep things basic. But the truth is that most computer users want more than that. And this is where the Spadix Software-developed application Universal Explorer comes in. It is a turbo-charged file manager that will get you to forget about Windows Explorer and the limited functionality it has to offer.
It will only take a moment to get Universal Explorer off the web and onto your computer as the download is a mere 3.5MB large. The same can be said about installing the application on your Windows-powered computer; just follow the steps presented by the setup wizard and you will be done in very little time. The application has minimal system requirements and it will work on just about any Windows version.
Getting accustomed to Universal Explorer is a simple enough manner. The interface is comprised of multiple panes meant to make it very easy to navigate your PC. Your drives, libraries, network and control panel are displayed to the left, shortcuts to the most common tasks are at the top, and a large preview pane displays the files you select. When you click an image file for example, it will be displayed in the preview pane.
Universal Explorer provides all the functionality you would expect to get from a file manager. You can easily browse your data and move files from one location to another. You can also view and edit documents and files, create archives, capture the screen or an active window, find files on your hard drive, batch rename files, encrypt and decrypt files, and more.
All those who are dissatisfied with the limited functionality that Windows Explorer has to offer are very well advised to put Universal Explorer to the test. It is an easy to use file manager that has a lot of functionality to offer.
Pros
The intuitive interface of the application is very easy to navigate and so is managing your files with Universal Explorer. You can view and edit almost any file type, you can batch rename files, you can replace text in files, and more. There are several built in tools that will address your many needs.
Cons
You can use Universal Explorer for free for a trial period of 30 days.
